Service · Catalogue classification
Thousands of products classified as one structured project.
A new compliance programme, an acquisition, a new market or an audit finding can leave thousands of part numbers to classify, with the data spread across ERP systems, datasheets and engineering files.
In two lines
We extract the technical parameters, group similar items and clear the plainly uncontrolled ones early, then review everything that may be controlled. You get a register your ERP can load, with the reasoning for every entry.
How we run it
- Collect and sort. We gather your product data, technical documentation and existing classifications, and extract the relevant technical parameters and group similar items.
- Screen out the clear cases. Products that are plainly outside the control lists are identified early and documented, so expert time goes where the risk is.
- Expert review where it matters. Every item that may be controlled is reviewed by our team against the control parameters. Nothing is classified by software alone. Borderline cases are escalated and the reasoning recorded.
- Consistent results. Classification rules agreed with your teams are applied across the whole catalogue, so similar products get the same answer and the same rationale.
- Usable output. A classification register in the format your systems need, ready to load into your ERP or compliance software, with a written basis for each entry.
- Kept up to date. Control lists change every year. We review your register when the UK, EU or US lists are amended and flag the products affected.
Your technical data stays protected
Technical documentation is often itself controlled. Uploading it to a public AI service or a server in another country can count as an export in its own right, and for ITAR data that risk is serious. We agree with you in advance where your data is stored and processed, who can access it, and which tools may be used, so that a classification project never creates a new compliance problem.
